Ken Hockenberry’s service as Stated Clerk for Chicago Presbytery began in 2018. Prior to this, he served as Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Mid-Kentucky for 18 years. In 2020 he was appointed as Interim Business Manager for Chicago Presbytery, and then Business Manager in 2022.
Ken also serves as an adjunct faculty member (Presbyterian Polity) at McCormick Theological Seminary, having served as an adjunct faculty member (Preaching, Worship, and Practical Theology) and as Interim Director of Field Education at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Ordained as a PC(USA) Minister of Word and Sacrament in 1984, Ken has served as Pastor of Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, New York; Co-Pastor (along with his wife Judy) of Beulah Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Kentucky; and Pastor of Carter-Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Skokie, Illinois. He received his MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary and also holds a Bachelor of Music from Grove City College.
Ken is married to Rev. Judy Hockenberry, and they have three adult children – Kathryn, Jennifer, and Andrew. Ken seeks to serve our presbytery decently and in order, and with hopeful enthusiasm and joy.
