Chicago Presbytery Leadership Conference 2025
Holy Disruption: The Pursuit of Building the Church in a Messy World
March 8, 2025
College of DuPage Student Resource Center

Join us for a powerful day of learning and connection at the Chicago Presbytery Leadership Conference on March 8, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the College of DuPage Conference Center. This year’s theme, “Holy Disruption: The Pursuit of Building the Church in a Messy World,” invites leaders to engage with the challenges and opportunities of faith in a rapidly changing world.

Keynote speaker, Rev. Samuel Son, a leading voice in diversity and reconciliation for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), will inspire us with his insights on navigating today’s complexities. Rev. Son is a regular contributor to Cultural Weekly and Presbyterians Today, and his message promises to challenge and equip leaders for the work of ministry in a messy world.

In addition to the keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to attend more than 20 practical workshops designed to strengthen leadership across all areas of church life. Some of the engaging sessions to choose from include:

  • Preaching the Spoken Word: Techniques and approaches for impactful preaching in today’s context.
  • Strategies for Small Churches: Ways to survive, thrive, and grow in a rapidly changing landscape.
  • Earth-Care: Making a Difference in the World and at Your Church: Practical steps for building a sustainable future.
  • Re-Imagining Sunday School: Fresh ideas for shaping the next generation of disciples.
  • Who is My Neighbor? Migrants, Refugees, and Beyond: Exploring the call to love and serve those on the margins.
  • Working Towards Building a Healthy Congregation: Practical strategies for fostering a vibrant, inclusive community.
  • Technology and the Church of Tomorrow: Harnessing digital tools for ministry in the 21st century.
  • Mission and Mission Opportunities: Faith calls us to action—ways to get the whole congregation involved in serving others.
  • What We Believe as PCUSA: Theological grounding for living out our faith in these challenging times.
  • Nuts & Bolts of Church Leadership: Essential training for Elders, Deacons, Clerks of Session, Admins, and more!
  • What Do We Mean When We Say We Are a Matthew 25 Community?: Exploring the vision and actions behind this movement.

This conference offers an unparalleled opportunity for pastors, elders, deacons, and lay leaders to grow in their roles and strengthen their ministries. Whether you’re seeking to improve preaching skills, explore new mission opportunities, or discover practical tools for leading your congregation, there’s something for everyone.
