Chicagoland Christians United for the Care for Creation is honored that the Archdiocese of Chicago will archive the Declaration for the Care of Creation in Holy Name Cathedral, 735 North State Street, Chicago, IL 60654. An Ecumenical Prayer Service, at which time the Declaration will first be displayed, will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 7:00PM, after which the Declaration will be made available in perpetuity for Christians and all people of good will to contemplate our relationship with God’s good gift of creation, to consider our call to care for our common home, and to pray for renewed vigor as we strive to obey that call.
On behalf of His Eminence Blase Cardinal Cupich, Bishop Robert Casey, Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Chicago, will offer the homily at the ecumenical prayer service and host a reception for those in attendance immediately following the service. His Eminence Blase Cardinal Cupich, Bishop Robert Casey, and the 17 denominations represented by Ecumenism Metro Chicago and Chicagoland Christians United for the Care of Creation warmly welcome our sisters and brothers in Christ to join us for this important ecumenical event.
As one of the signers of the Declaration, we pray you or your representative will be present at this prayer service and will, once again, participate as you did previously.
We continue to pray for your life and ministry and we ask for your prayers as we seek unity among Christians everywhere. If you have questions or concerns about this service, please feel free to phone, text, or call me personally using my contact information below.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Grayson Van Camp
Acting Secretary for EMC/4C
