Shorefront Legacy Center’s Exhibit

The Shorefront Legacy Center’s exhibit on the Black history of North Shore will be open during the month of February at the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmette (FPCW) and you are invited to come see it and invite other members of your congregation to join you.

The FPCW Racial Justice Committee is pleased to announce that Evanston’s Shorefront Legacy Center’s traveling exhibit will be open in our Chapel during the month of February. The exhibit focuses on the Black history of Chicago’s suburban NorthShore. The Legacy Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to recording, studying, and preserving the experiences of African Americans living in Chicago’s Northshore communities, particularly Evanston, Glencoe, and Lake Forest.  The exhibit will remain through the end of February, and we will be holding community open houses on Sunday, February 5 and again on Sunday, February 26 from 1-3 p.m.  Group viewing will be available at other times by appointment.  If interested, please call the church office at 847-256-3010.  Hope to see many of our friends from our community racial justice consortium there!

Blessings to all of you.
